Elia Kazan directed this fascinating "social topic" drama about race prejudice starring Jeanne Crain and Ethels Waters and Barrymore. It's a good movie but today could probably be the focus of a "social topic" docu on misguided liberal filmmaking. Author Kenneth Geist offers a superlative commentary, the best thing Savant's heard or read about "the race problem" in Hollywood movies. Fox.
