Boys Town Savant shows no mercy on this worst of the MGM 'family fare' sentimental hogwash genre. Somehow, even inspiring greater giving to charity doesn't add to our appreciation. Spencer Tracy uses holy extortion to fund his ideal good-boy community, and Mickey Rooney provides the emotional baloney.
