Love Me Tender Significant as history and nostalgia, Elvis' first film boils down to a middling Civil War story with the balance thrown off by the presence of a rock star. The movie's really about Richard Egan and (sigh) Debra Paget, but everybody playing opposite Presley has a thankless role!
