Savant's new reviews today are

Marlene Dietrich: The Glamour Collection:
Morocco, Blonde Venus, The Devil is a Woman, The Flame of New Orleans and Golden Earrings
 Universal and
Violent Midnight (Psychomania)  Dark Sky

I've added a couple of dissenting emails to my King Kong review, to reflect that film's acknowledged lack of enthusiasm in some quarters.

That review and the review for The Long Good Friday were also sent out in a rush, so I've revised both of them, for errors pointed out by helpful readers, and just plain awkward writing. Now they're terrific, stupendous, and almost readable!

I'd also like to welcome the excellent DVD Journal reviewer Mark Bourne to an organization I've been with for four years, the Online Film Critics Society. I've linked to Mark's reviews several times, as he has a disconcerting habit of nailing the appeal of a movie in about one third the space that I use. Mark deserves the honor, and I hope he doesn't chicken out at the blood initiation. We stole him a Pharaohs jacket and everything, man!

Thanks for all the support! Glenn Erickson
