71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance The third chapter in Austrian director Michael Haneke's "glaciation trilogy" is a stylized examination of a dozen unhappy citizens living frustrated lives of isolation, bombarded by uncaring media messages. Some try to heal broken families or adopt lost children, while students play abstract games and a criminal makes a living by selling stolen handguns.
