The Burbank Shield gives us the gutsy, hard-hitting conviction of "G-Men", Bullets or Ballots, San Quentin, A Slight Case of Murder, Each Dawn I Die and City for Conquest -- movies designed to avoid, skirt and otherwise circumvent Production code restrictions on the depiction of gangsters. A couple are more violent than the "bad" movies they replaced!
