Koko a Talking Gorilla
Barbet Schroeder's fascinating docu of linguists teaching a gorilla to talk in the late 1970s showed great promise. The film still holds up but the extras on this special edition fail to let us know what's really happened to Koko in the meantime. Were the zoo people right, and she was really being exploited as a 'fake human' and a fundraiser? From Criterion.
