The Most Beautiful Wife
(La moglie più bella) Italian director Damiano Damiani's strong tale of sex and power is based on a true scandal in Sicily. Gangster Alessio Orano wants a compliant wife and teenaged beauty Ornella Muti (her first film) won't cooperate ... so he rapes her. The social stigma of being used and abandoned compels her to give in and marry him ... but Muti fights back, even with the police, her family and the entire community against her. Very good, with a weird Ennio Morricone score. NoShame.
