THE MOVIE
Sorority Strip Party serves its purpose as a softcore title. It's tame enough to play on Cinemax, yet arousing enough for viewers who are looking for something sexy, yet not hardcore.
I suppose it helps that all the women featured in the title are actual porn stars. They know exactly how to pose for and tease the camera, and it's also good to know going in that if you want to see any one of these babes in something a little more explicit, you need only go to your nearest adult store or online e-tailer.
The movie opens with Puerto-Rican actress Dee and dark-haired Kelli Tyler washing their yellow car and talking about how men turn them on. Dee starts talking about how she loves the feeling of having sex with her boyfriend, and soon the two ladies are soaping each other up and spraying each other off. Kelli remembers she needs to call her parents, so Dee is left alone to soap herself up and spray herself off one more time.
Alana Evans and Christie Lee arrive at the sorority house and go inside, where the rest of the girls are waiting on the couch for them. Aria and Michelle Lay (who is uncredited in this title) are the heads of the sorority and notify the girls that they need to come up with a plan to raise some money, or they are going to be kicked out of the house. Later that evening, Michelle tells Aria how she has been taking some striptease lessons, and does a little dance for Aria – removing her clothing in the process. Aria does the same shortly thereafter.
Meanwhile, Christie and Alana have found a bedroom and start going through the drawers, where they find several sets of bras and panties. They decide to try them on, and we get a few minutes of both women stripping in and out of outfits, and playing with each other's nipples and breasts in the process.
Alaura Eden returns to the sorority after a day of shopping and tells Aria and Michelle that she has been out buying some lingerie. She shows the girls her favorite outfit, and then tries it on in front of them. Alaura is also involved in the next scene, which takes place poolside and involves some seduction and teasing between her and Kelli Tyler.
The last scene of the film has all the girls practicing their stripping technique, starting with Aria and Alana…with all of the women eventually joining in.
THE DVD
Video:
The video is presented in the full-frame format, and is pretty decent considering this is a shot-on-video production. Flesh tones seem properly balanced, and there is no noticeable pixilation on the transfer. It's not as sharp as some shot-on-video DVDs I have watched, but it's still nicely done.
Audio:
The audio is presented in 2.0 Dolby only, and while it sounds clear, it does seem just slightly pumped up a bit, although nothing too distracting. Considering the content, the audio is more than good enough and shouldn't provide any distraction to the home viewer.
Extras:
Aside from a Chapter Selection and some Website Information, the only extras on this DVD are a Photo Gallery and 5 Trailers for other titles available on Playboy Home Video.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This is a decent release for Playboy and the softcore genre. The women are very attractive (Christie Lee is my personal favorite!), and there are no long lags between one strip scene and the next. Replay value isn't that high – but then again, replay value is never that high for these types of DVDs. It may not be worth a purchase, but if you're so inclined, it's definitely worth a rental.
