THE MOVIE

There are times when I think reviewing DVDs is a pretty cool job to have. And then I take a look at something like Snoop Dogg's Buckwild Bus Tour and realize that there are people out there having a lot more fun than I am.

Sponsored by Playboy TV, hip hop rapper Snoop Dogg and Playboy TV's own Ken "Buckwild" Francis hit the road for Snoop's latest tour – featuring a hot looking tour bus and even hotter looking women of color joining Snoop and Ken for the trip. The premise here, much like Ken Francis' Playboy TV show (entitled Buckwild) is to give a little love to black women – who so often get left out of both Playboy's other programming and adult entertainment in general.

I suppose it will be no surprise to Snoop's fans that the bus has barely pulled out onto the interstate before he has the marijuana out and is passing it around and getting everyone high. One would think that the police would just pull a bus that has "Snoop Dogg" in big bold letters on it over for a routine inspection, but that never seems to happen in this video. One funny event that does occur is when Snoop's bus comes along the broken down (flat tire) bus of Busta Rhymes, and Snoop gives his fellow rapper a much needed ride.

In addition to several concert performances that we get to see, a good portion of the video is dedicated to having the women compete in a number of contests – including the "sucking" contest (using sex toys instead of…well, you know!) and a striptease contest. About halfway through its 98-minute running time, the video shifts focus a bit – as the tour is now over and Snoop must select a new group of women for his next tour. Those looking for eye candy will enjoy this part of the DVD the best, as it almost exclusively deals with Snoop interviewing talent and getting them to show off their bodies.

THE DVD

Video:
The video is presented in the letterboxed format, but it's not anamorphic. It has a slightly grainy look to it, but this appears to be the way that it was filmed, rather than a problem with the actual transfer. Compared to other Playboy DVDs I have watched, the video here compares favorably.

Audio:
Like most other Playboy DVDs, this one is presented in 2.0 Dolby sound. No real problems with the audio, but considering there's a great deal of music involved (including a pair of music videos in the bonus material), one wishes Playboy would have taken the time to produce a 5.1 Track.

Extras:
Those who just can't get enough of the fine-looking babes on this disc should enjoy watching the Eye Candy section of the bonus material – which devotes roughly 15 extra minutes to six of the girls who appear in the main title. These are broken up into separate sections of about 3 minutes each, with each girl doing some solo posing, except for Maya B and Delicious – who team up for some softcore girl-on-girl fun. The extras also include two different Music Videos of the song "Moet," which features the voices of Snoop Dogg, RBX, The Twins, E-White, and Bishop Don "Magic" Juan. The first version is listed as the "Tour Video," while the second version is called the "Strip Club Mix".

There's also some Audition Interview Outtakes, which runs about 5 ½ minutes and provides a little more skin for viewers who still haven't gotten enough. Finally, there's a Photo Gallery with about 30 photos to look at.

THE BOTTOM LINE

While fans of Snoop Dogg will probably want to add this to their collection, for the casual viewer this qualifies as good rental material. It's better than most Playboy releases in that there's a lot more going on here than just women posing for the camera. However, even if you're just checking this one out for the babes, you should be quite satisfied.
