The Picture:
Fox did a good job with the picture on Anistasia. This is no Prince of Egypt or Bug's Life, but considering their track record with transfers, this one was a nice surprise. I was happy to see that Fox decided to release Anastasia with both Full Frame and Widescreen, something that can get overlooked with a kids film. Still it would have been nice if it was enhanced for 16X9 TV's.

The Sound:
There is a fair amount of music in Anastasia and with it's Dolby Digital 5.1 mix it sounded excellent. Again many kids films will skimp on the sound and so Anistasia was a nice surprise. The audio was crisp and clear and helped create a movie theater like experience.

The Extras:
Anastasia does have a fair amount of extra material on the DVD but it's a mixed bag. The extras that didn't make the grade include Making of Featurette,which is really nothing more than an ad and an interactive puzzles which are a waste. There are a few extras that do stand out, including a making of documentary, which runs just under 1/2 hour and takes a nice in-depth look at the movie, and a sing along feature that lets your kids sing along with two of the songs from Anistasia (follow the bouncing ball), and of course there is a trailer for Bartok on the DVD (a sequel of sorts) including a making of documentary, which runs just under 1/2 hour and takes a nice in-depth look at the movie,

Conclusion:
I was pleasantly surprised by Anastasia, it is a truly enjoyable film that is sure to be overlooked in favor of some of the more well known Disney films out there, but if you are looking for an enjoyable film for your kids that you will enjoy as well Anastasia really does fit the bill.
