Extreme Measures
Extreme Measures stars Hugh Grant and Gene Hackman in a conspiracy/mystery about Doctor Guy Luthan (Grant) whose patients start disappearing. After a body disappears on the way to the morgue, he starts to get suspicious. What follows is a conspiracy that aims to destroy Luthan to protect the secret research on the spinal cord by Doctor Lawrence Myrick (Hackman). Overall, it's a good story, but about an hour and fifteen minutes through the movie, you start wondering exactly where the plot is going. It soon gets back on track again, however. Overall it's an enjoyable movie, but I would recommend you rent it rather than buy it.
Picture and Sound:
The picture quality is good, nothing special. It is Anamorphic Widescreen, and the picture is clear. Can't ask for much more than that, really. The sound is Dolby Pro Logic. It's ok, again nothing really impressive, but the audio is clear, and the dialog is easy to understand.
The Extras:
Extras are definitely missing from this DVD. The only extra on this DVD unless you count the French Audio Track is the Theatrical Trailer. This is just another reason why you should rent this, and only if you think you'll like the movie.
Conclusion:
Extreme Measures is an ok movie with a lackluster disc. Not even something small like filmographies or interviews or anything. I would recommend you rent this disc if you feel the movie appeals to you - I liked it, but it wasn't that great - I can think of plenty of other movies I'd get before this one, but if you think you'll like it, then go for it, otherwise, don't bother.
