Blue Juice
List Price: Unknown [Buy now and save at Amazon]
In Short: Early Catherine Zeta-Jones/Ewan McGregor film gets a DVD release.
The film:
"Blue Juice" is an odd little film - not to quite a comedy, not quite a drama - that's likely most noteworthy for an early performance from not only Catherine Zeta Jones, but also "Trainspotting"'s Ewan McGregor. The film revolves around four friends who spend their time surfing in England and generally hanging out. The main characters are played by Sean Pertwee and Zeta-Jones. Although Zeta-Jones has a great little performance as Pertwee's girlfriend, it's also remarkable how young she looks in this film, which was released in 1995. The movie is a little weird, but maybe worth a rental if you can't find anything else new to rent when this DVD comes out in March.
The DVD quality is passable, nothing great. Colors are nice, but not vibrant and although the picture is clear, it's not terribly sharp. It looks a little grainy at times as well. The audio is basic, mainly dialogue. There's some good songs included on the soundtrack, though. The early copy that I recieved does not have anything else besides the movie included on the DVD. My grade is just a general evaluation of what's included here - there may be more things included with the final product.
