Movie: This is the prequel to From Dusk 'Til Dawn, giving us some background info on the series. When I heard about a third installment, I was skeptical, as the second episode was lacking, to be kind. This one is not much better, here's the story. Johnny Madrid is on the run, with the luscious daughter of one of the men chasing him. While on the run, they encounter all manner of strange characters, before they end up at the infamous building that houses those wacky vampires. That's about as deep as the story bothers to go, so I won't tell you much more than that. This installment is no better than the second, which was terrible, as I said. At least the second one was somewhat active in tone, this movie is slow moving and moved only by poorly written dialogue, aside from the end sequence and some sporadic action scenes. All in all, this is a movie only for horror movie fans, and mosy of them will be disappointed with this clunker.

Video: From Dusk 'Til Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen. The visual transfer was better than the movie, with a full array of visual treats. You get excellent colors, with some real vibrance coming through in certain scenes, which is a must for any movie that features blood. Also, the movie very dark in places, but the disc maintains full detail level, even in the darkest portions of the transfer. I noticed some minor blocking, but nothing extreme.

Audio: The 5.1 track included on the disc is very good, but lacks a total surround feel in most scenes. During only the most action packed scenes do the surrounds show up, except for some minor appearances in the soundtrack. Dialogue is clear at all times, even if the point of this movie isn't.

Extras: The only bonus feature on the disc is a very short deleted scene. It's decent, but I'd rather have the trailer.
