Real World: Exotic Vacations

The Movie:
Another in a continuing line of "Real World" tie-in videos, "Exotic Vacations" is one of the most memorable of the group, largely because of its theme - throwing a bunch of people who are already not getting along into a far-off country. While this occasionally results in more heated arguements to take place, it's often one of the rare areas where often hot-tempered casts can actually bond. For this special, Jamie (New Orleans) and Amaya (Hawaii) visit Theo in the "Real World Chicago" house to discuss the funniest and strangest moments that happened on their vacations and show clips from some of the other vacations (cast members have gone to Puerto Rico, India, Nepal, South Africa, Morocco, the Bahamas and other places).
Note: While the cursing is no longer bleeped on this program (and there is a fair amount of four-letter words thrown about), the nudity still remains censored.
The DVD
VIDEO: "Real World: Exotic Vacations" is presented in the show's original 1.33:1 full-frame aspect ratio. Sharpness and detail remained superb, as the crisp photography looked well-defined and smooth throughout this show. Aside from a little bit of edge enhancement and some very minor artifacts, no flaws appeared. Colors - bright or subdued, depending on the location - were accurately presented and free of faults.
SOUND: The program's 2.0 soundtrack is similar to other "RW" programs, in the way that the soundtrack of popular tunes is mixed loudly, which required the volume to be turned down as the program began. Otherwise, audio quality was fine, as dialogue was crisp and clear.
MENUS: Slightly animated main menu that puts vacation pictures to use.
EXTRAS: Travel tips, location profiles and photo gallery.
Final Thoughts: One of the more engaging "Real World" programs, "Exotic Vacations" offered a nice mix of fun moments and fights. Recommended for fans of the series.
