King of the Masks
Audio: The audio presented is Dolby Stereo surround, which is heavy on tinny sound. There is no sub activity and no surround feature. The last feature I reviewed from China suffered from the same audio malady, pretty awful audio.
Video: The video is presented in a full frame format that boasted some really beautiful colors but not-so striking clarity. The images had a tendency to be soft and muddy, rendering them more like television signals rather than digital imagery.
Extras: The extras on the disc are the film's trailer and production notes.
Overall: Having only reviewed two titles from China I am hardly an expert on the kinds of discs that they produce however, if the two films I've reviewed are any indication of the flavors we can expect, I'll not waste anytime purchasing these titles. The content of the film is wonderful. As you watch the transformation of the older master going from a hard-edged persona to a softer version of himself, you can't help but enjoy the spirit of the film. Additionally, the film's message of inclusion & barrier breaking are some of the most important timeless issues of the day. As for the content of the film, it's worth a look-see. However, for the shoddy way in which the disc is produced, I'd say rent it
