Movie: In yet another romantic comedy, Bandai presents us with Please Teacher. The story concerns a young man who finds himself put in an awkward situation where he discovers an alien living among his town while he goes to school. Her mission is to watch over the Earth and if it's compromised, she'll be sent back forever. Here's what the dvd case said: "Kei Kusanagi isn't your typical 15 year old high school student. He's actually an 18 year old with a rare disorder that puts him into what he calls, a "standstill". When he was younger, this disorder left him in a deep coma which stunted his growth for the next three years! Mizuho Kazami isn't your typical teacher either. She's actually an alien sent by the Galaxy Federation to observe the Earth! As the sole human being with knowledge of Ms. Kazumi's secret, Kei must…marry the alien?! Homework, dating, and a gorgeous wife – going to school has never been quite this fun!"

1: Tell Me Teacher: Kei is walking along by a lake when he sees a UFO and a beautiful female alien. The next day in school he finds out she's his new teacher, essentially setting up the premise.
2: I Can't Get Married Anymore: More details are learned about Mihuzo, including she's half human, and the two find themselves trapped in a storage closet. Circumstances were such that they found themselves married in order to protect her identity and mission.
3: This Isn't Right Teacher: In order to establish her cover further, the young couple move in together but his classmates aren't let in on the whole affair to avoid scandal.
4: Actually, I Think I Love You: The couple find each other growing closer together but uncomfortable since they aren't actually consummating their marriage. When Kei goes on a date, Mihuzo trails him and finds herself getting jealous over it. Will it be long before the two discover whether they're compatible or not?

Picture: The picture was presented in full frame 1.33:1 ratio and looked great. I noticed no problems and know that part of the reason is how new this series is.

Sound: The sound was presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo with a choice for either the original Japanese with English subtitles or English. It was also crisp and clear.

Extras: The extras included a long version of the trailer with other Bandai trailers, promo clips, original commercials for the show, a photogallery, a double sided dvd cover, a paper insert that gives a complete list of credits and even a preview for the first episode.

Final Thoughts: Although some of the voice acting on the English language track was a bit stilted, I had some real fun with this one. The scenario, the humor, and the continued growth of the characters was enough for me to want to see the rest of the series. If you're looking for some light entertainment that isn't much different from Tenchi, but still retains it's own charm, you'll find this show worth buying. I hope future volumes are equally enjoyable since this was a nice change of pace. I suppose my biggest complaint was the over use of the phrase "This is a priority one." In all, I recommend it to all fans of the genre and highly recommend it to fans of romantic anime comedies.
