Dr. Jekyll & Mistress Hyde: LE
Short Takes
From the writer of Misty Mundae: Mummy Raider and the director of The Witches of Sappho Salon comes Dr. Jackie Stevenson's lurid tale of woe (rather, WHOA!!!) in which she yearns to free womankind from what she deems the "Repression Syndrome," or the inner struggle between the pure and the lustful. Dowdy Doc Jackie (the deliriously gorgeous Julian Wells) counters this phenomena with a syringe of green goo (a la Herbert West) which causes her to shed her spectacles, let down her tousled locks and turn into a wanton sexual predator who sculks around a seedy warehouse district at 3 a.m. to digitally molest CineSchlocker idol Misty Mundae whom she finds characteristically clad in a salivatory school girl getup with a hiney-high skirt and no drawers. You know, a NICE girl. The two then spend a fiery third of the flick's running time no longer being "repressed" both as themselves AND their drug-induced alter egos. Most notably, they engage in a girl-on-girl-on-girl tag team bout with comely newcomer Andrea Davis, the requisite nosey reporter, who gets strung up from the rafters as Julian and Misty, er, Jackie and Martine, er, Heidi and Dawn find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of hyper-engorged nip-nips the size of cherry Tootsie Pops. As toasty as that truly is, CineSchlockers should lay off the rewind button long enough to watch the feature-length "making of" that's actually Ms. Mundae and Ruby LaRocca's travelogue as they venture from New Jersey to embark on their first Hollywood-lensed flick. Marvel at the often hilarious results of "sleep deprivation and menstrual cramps" that hardly sidetrack their pursuit of tourist haunts such as Mann's Chinese Theatre or even the lingerie shop where Ms. LaRocca supplements her French maid ensem with bun-brandishing fishnets. See Misty's on-set, Red Bull-fueled ode to Deborah Harry's "Rapture" and -- once more with feeling -- her own take two of her not-so-def Play-Mate of the Apes rap. And, yes, you filthy little horndogs, there's still plenty of voyeuristic set lurking. Eight breasts. One corpse. Multiple hypodermic closeups. Ear licking. Gratuitous straightjacket footage. Advanced lesbian tongue rasslin. Hog tieing. Chronic self-gratification. Ms. Davis coos in sapphic delirium, "I want! ... I want! ... I want! ... I want! ... I want! ... I want! ... I want! ... I want! ... " (2002, 88 mins, Fullframe, DD 2.0, Documentary, Interviews, Trailers. Numbered limited edition features an 18-track CD soundtrack including the "nymphomania mix" of "Something's Come Over You.")
