10) Sonata Of Reminiscence: War In The Remembrance: The reporter digs deeper and proves he's much more competent than his outward appearance would indicate. At the same time, the main characters and their motivations continue to be expanded upon after a quick fight at the beginning of the show.

11) Kyota Circuit: Nightmare: Ayato and the RahXephon are captured by an enemy Dolem and seemingly transported back to Neo-Tokyo. Forced to choose between his loyalty towards TERRA and his past, which path will he take or will he wait too long to choose and lose it all?

12) The Black Egg: Resonance: This episode focused more on Quon, the Muian who's working with TERRA, than previous volumes. She's in a sort of coma and a powerful group known as the Bahbem Foundation, a sponsor of TERRA, wants to check her out. She disappears and finds herself in the RahXephon just as Ayato goes to attack a new enemy Dolem. What is her connection to the current events and why are powerful corporate interests concerned about her?

Picture: The picture was presented in full frame 1.33:1 ratio and looked great. I noticed no problems and even the dvd transfer looked great.

Sound: The audio tracks were either in English 5.1 Dolby Stereo or the original Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles in 2.0 stereo. Both sounded very crisp and clear although I give the nod to the original Japanese track as being better.

Extras: A clean opening and closing (no credits on them), some trailers, an early production promo from Japan and production sketches. Lastly, there was a paper insert in the DVD case that was in full color, had translation notes and sketches of some of the characters and Dolems as well as some interviews with several of the original Japanese creators.

Final Thoughts: The series continues to impress me as it did in Volume 1 and Volume 2 and my biggest concern would be the value factor. In the first volume, there were 5 episodes, in the second volume, 4 episodes, but in this third volume, there are only 3 episodes and fewer extras. Since they all cost the same, this increases the cost per episode quite a bit and that lowers my rating for this volume to Recommended. I really like the show but without correspondingly good extras to maintain a high value, I feel forced to do this. Otherwise, this is a well written, well made show, worthy of high praise.
