The Movie: The Princess Bride is an 80s fantasy movie based on William Goldman's novel of the same name. As it happens, it is also one of my favorite movies of all time. The Princess Bride is a story of true love, revenge and bravery, set in Medieval Times in the fictional country of Florin. The story follows two people, Wesley and Buttercup, as Wesley fights his way to find her, his true love. She thinks him dead by the dread Pirate Roberts, but he survived only to be captured and tortured by her soon-to-be husband, Prince Humperdink. The Princess Bride is a great love story, and a great comedy as well, with excellent casting, such as the unrecognizeable Billy Crystal as Miracle Max. Picture: The picture is excellent, however, there were some artifacts on the print. Other than that, the colors and the action look excellent.

Sound: The sound has been remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1. The new 5.1 soundtrack sounds extremely clear and takes advantage of the surround speakers for the music. The sound track is excellent compared to the VHS copy I've been watching all these years.

The Extras: The only extra on this disc is the Original Theatrical Trailer.

Conclusion: The Princess Bride is one of my all-time favorite movies. When I found out it would be coming out on DVD, I was quite excited. While I was disappointed, I was happy to find out the disc would be in Widescreen and the soundtrack (to my surprise, since Amazon listed it as Mono) remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1. It was priced accordingly, only costing $14.99 at Amazon.com. It is an excellent movie that I highly recommend.
