House Party 2

List Price: Unknown [Buy now and save at Amazon]

Review by Blake Kunisch | posted July 27, 2000 | E-mail the Author

The Movie: Following the success of House Party, the producers (or whoever was in charge) decided we needed another one, and ultimately, they failed miserably. This movie fails to be funny and lacks all of the elements of the first that made it a great movie to watch and just laugh at. House Party 2 is unfunny and unfortunately, just a waste of time.

The Picture: There were no apparent problems with the picture visible. The movie doesn't really have any dark scenes to test the black, but the colors were vibrant. It would have been nice to see an anamorphic transfer, but with a movie of this quality, I'm sure no many people care.

The Sound: The sound is good, but not the best possible. During the music and dance scenes, the sound was good, but it didn't seem to take advantage of the full surround sound system.

The Extras: Again, there isn't much here either. Just some filmographies and biographies and trailers from other New Line releases.

Conclusion: In conclusion, there were a lot of things wrong with this disc in the first place. The movie itself isn't that good and without an anamorphic transfer and no extras, there's really no reason to buy this disc.
