The Movie:

Not exactly the best Clint Eastwood movie. Starring Eastwood as Bronco Billy, the film revolves around Billy leading his troupe of carnival actors around from stop to stop, trying to make enough money in hard times to live. Joined by a rich woman (Sandra Locke), the band sets out to round up some much needed cash.

The film is Eastwood trying to be a little lighter and a little more humorous, but it mainly just succeeds at being light. What comedy there is doesn't really work too well. It moves slowly as well, but manages to coast along on the charming cast, who makes it worth watching.

This is by no means great, but it's somewhat fun now and then.

The DVD

VIDEO: Warner Brothers has given a very pleasing transfer to "Bronco Billy". With the fact that it's a little more recent (20 years old this year, actually) than titles like "Dirty Harry", it does look pretty solid. Sharpness is good, but not perfect - a few shots here and there seem a little bit on the soft side. Detail is good, and for the most part, images are fairly well-defined.

Colors are fairly subdued for the most part, but look pleasing and accurate, with no problems. Problems are limited to the slightest trace of pixelation once or twice, and a little bit of grain now and again. There's a mark or two on the print used, but these are very minimal.

SOUND: The film's Dolby Surround audio is included here, and it's pretty limited in scope and not terribly great. It gets the job done, but sounds pretty thin at times. The musical score is clear, but dialogue seems a bit harsh now and then.

MENUS:: Basic, non-animated main menus with film-themed art. The score plays in the background of the main menu.

EXTRAS: The cast and crew bios section only includes a more in-depth Bio for Eastwood.

Final Thoughts: Not too bad a film, but not one of the best from Eastwood. The disc has fine video and passable audio quality, but no extras.
