An American journalist looking into possible Al-Qaeda links in Pakistan, he was kidnapped by Pakistani extremists for his supposed CIA connections. A Mighty Heart is one of those movies that even though you already know the outcome and are prepared for the ending, you are continually drawn in and truly feel for the characters.
After Danny (Dan Futterman) doesn't come home after an interview he has set up, his pregnant wife Mariane (Angelina Jolie) immediately knows that something is wrong. Over the next few days the local police, diplomats, the Justice Department, and the F.B.I. step in to help. A journalist herself, Mariane uses all her contacts and does everything imaginable to locate the people Danny was meeting with, to hopefully find the correct person to lead them to h...Read the entire review

The Robin Williams I once knew has definitely turned a corner and seems completely absent from the roles that made him a household favorite. Patch Adams falls right in the middle of his transition, and thankfully Robin Williams delivers a solid performance, maybe even the last performance as his old self.
After hitting rock bottom and checking himself into a mental hospital, Patch Adams (Robin Williams) discovers that he has a gift...the ability to reach out, touch people's lives, and make them better. He goes to medical school to learn how to help people even more. Patch enjoys "bending" the rules and goes behind the dean's back to see patients before he is actually allowed. He entertains the patients and families, knowing that laughter, love, and a compassionate ear is truly what people need when they are sick. As she lies sick and dying in her bed, her two grown daughters Nina and Connie (Toni Collette & Natasha Richardson) are at her side. Ann "dreams" and reflects on her most life-changing weekend as a young, beautiful woman (Claire Danes). After serving his time and being released, he knows that there is no going back. In order to move his way back up the ranks he has to eliminate the other drug lord competition and become the King of New York. With his point man Jimmy Jump (Larry a.k.a. A younger Matthews was a fan of Reynolds as he performed in a local bar. Matthews ended up becoming a bartender there and they started a very unique friendship as they got to know each other better. From hours of jam sessions to band performances, they both had one heck of a career ahead of them.
Live at Radio City is one of the most impressive live discs I have ever seen. A plane carrying nearly the entire football team, coaches, and several townspeople crashes, devastating the entire town of Huntington, West Virginia. Fighting through their grief, students and the remaining players lobby for President Don Dedmon (David Strathairn) to keep the program running, quite a difficult feat when freshman were still not allowed to start in games. It is extremely hard to find a movie that he is ever bad in. I love that he tends to gravitate to roles that will push and challenge him in some way.
In 1971 an African American football coach, Coach Boone (Denzel Washington), is made the head coach of the T.C. Williams High School football team. The school has just been forced to desegregate, which has caused the town quite a bit of tension and political infighting. Coach Yoast (Will Patton) was on his way to be nominated in the hall of fame when Boone comes in and takes his job as head coach. Despite this setback in his career, Yoast can't leave his team and accepts a position as assistant/defensive coach. The entire team and coaches head off to a summer training camp, where they hit the boys hard with getting along despite their differences. The coaches have a difficult tim...Read the entire review

You really don't have to think during these films, and just get to enjoy the ridiculous action. Well, welcome to "Shooter," a modern-day reinvention of those types of films.
Based on Stephen Hunter's novel "Point of Impact," an ex-military sniper is sought out to help stop an assassination attempt against the President. Despite his now skeptical look on life, Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) decides to help by scoping out the possible sniper locations and telling them how the supposed shooter would pull it off. When things go wrong, Swagger is set up and framed for the attempt...his only hope is to prove his innocence before he is tracked down. In order to do that, he must work his way up the chain, and kill everyone involved in the doub...Read the entire review

He has seen and done things during the war that have changed him forever, but Simmons is determined to become the man he used to be. After losing the love of his life to a volcanic eruption in Columbia years earlier, Dalton takes extreme care when studying volcanoes that are showing signs of activity. The resistance is led by none other than Fidel Castro, who promises huge changes and a near "perfect world" for the benefit of the nation. As the resistance moves further into Havana, Fico's family is torn apart and the rich Cuban culture begins to vanish.
