Three years ago, Vince decided to tap in to the large segment of his audience that use the internet by allowing them to "be a part of the action". Fans were told to go to WWE.com and cast their votes on things that would determine the types of matches, weapons (if any) used and even the participants in some of the matches. Christened Taboo Tuesday, it was the only WWE PPV since the early 90's to be scheduled on a Tuesday, until last year when he rechristened it Cyber Sunday and moved it to - you guessed it - Sunday.

The first Cyber Sunday event took place at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 5, 2006. Here's the card:

• Umaga vs. Kane - The last time I saw these two in the same ring, it ended with Kane being forced over to SmackDown! (talk about punishment, eh?). This time, the fans chose the Big Red Machine over the Sandman and Chris Benoit. These two fellas put on a satisfactory match that ended the way that most of Umaga's matches end. I can't say that I enjoyed it, but I didn't have the urge to fast-forward through it either. I suppose I was just glad to see Kane again.

• Texas Tornado Tag Team Match [Cryme Tyme vs. the Highlanders vs. Charlie Haas & Viscera vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch] - This match just illustrates that the tag teams on Raw are pretty much a joke. As i've mentioned before, I like the Highlanders. Cryme Tyme, to me, are nothing more than a skit. A slightly racist, stereotypical skit, but a skit nonetheless. It also seems like their "fee" for participating in these skits is to win an overwhelming majority of their matches - despite the fact they hardly ever wrestle! Cade & Murdoch, on the other hand, aren't that bad. But since I actually remember that they broke up and then just as mysteriously became a team again, i'm thinking this is hindering my way of actually seeing them as a team. Which leaves us with Charlie Haas and Viscera. These two fellas supposedly bonded over an incident with ring announcer Lilian Garcia. It made no sense then, and it still doesn't here. however, it doesn't matter since Vince saw the error of his ways and reteamed him with Shelton Benjamin. As with the first match, it wasn't that bad and most of the participants put on a good show - well, at least until the end.
  
  
• DX in the hallway - A stupid skit. Funny, but stupid.
  
  
• Intercontinental Championship Match [Jeff Hardy vs. Carlito] - Not a bad match, but I really wasn't that impressed. Perhaps it would've been better had a "heel" been voted in. Then again, Carlito would be better if he were a "heel" again. As with most Hardy matches, there are some high-flying spots, and Carlito actually gets a few in too. However, this match made no sense as far as Jeff and Carlito's storylines at the time were concerned.
  
  
• D-Generation X vs. Edge & Randy Orton [Special Guest Referee Eric Bishoff] - Even though, as of this writing, I am officially sick of seeing these guys wrestle each other, this was a pretty entertaining match - made moreso by the participation of Bishoff.

• Diva Lumberjack Match for the Women's Championship [Mickie James vs. Lita] - Only Vince can make the very sight of 13 women involved in a wrestling match painful to watch. As if the Raw Divas wasn't enough, they've decided to throw in the Divas from SmackDown! and ECW. It didn't really bother me, since it gave me the chance to see Ariel from ECW. It's a shame they don't ditch that whole "fortune teller/vampire" character and move her over to Raw. Oh yeah, there was "wrestling" involved in this match too! However, it really wasn't anything to write home about.

• World Tag Team Championship Match [Spirit Squad vs. Ric Flair & "Rowdy" Roddy Piper] - Let me start off by saying that I love Roddy Piper. I really, really do. I was there during the early days and I loved watching him wrestle and I loved Piper's Pit. However, I hope he never, ever, ever, ever takes his shirt off again. Ever. Match aside, I am so glad the fans voted him in, since they were responsible for him discovering he had cancer. Anyways, back to the match. As i've mentioned before, i'm not sure if was by virtue of sheer numbers, but the Spirit Squad grew on me and I really didn't mind this match that demonstrated Vince's continuing lack of understanding where tag teams are concerned.
  
  
• King Booker & Queen Sharmell in John Cena's locker room
  
  
• Champion of Champions Match for the World Heavyweight Championship [WWE Champion John Cena vs. World Heavyweight Champion King Booker vs. ECW Champion Big Show] - What can I say about this match? I enjoy watching two of these three guys in the ring but, like for most of this pay-per-view, I was unimpressed and I wouldn't go out of my watch to watch this match again. Though, I will admit I miss Show.

Video: I'm not sure exactly why it is, but the picture quality for the PPVs have been steadily decreasing. The picture quality for both this disc and Cyber Sunday was terribly lacking and I can't for the life of me figure out why. It's not as if there is more content on the disc, both PPVs average 2-2 1/2 hours with very few bonuses. Anyways, it's presented in the usual full frame 1.33:1 ratio.

Audio: As with the picture quality, the audio seems to be on a downward spiral too. Usually, the sound is wide and envelopes the room. However, this release sounds very flat and it seems as if only the center channel is getting a workout. Still, it's listed as a Dolby Digital 5.1 track and is available in Spanish, tambien.

Conclusion: I found Cyber Sunday to be lacking and full of slightly entertaining matches. Sure, the gimmick is unique, but it still seemed as if I were watching an episode of Raw (which wouldn't be a bad thing if you didn't have to pay for it). However, i'm not sure a disc full of matches that are only "slightly entertaining" would justify shelling out your hard-earned money. In fact, if you can't borrow it from a friend or rent it on a dollar day to make up your own mind, i'd recommend you Skip It entirely.
