The Movie: Throughout my life, I've listened to one genre of music - classic rock. And in this genre, Blondie is a common sound. I have always enjoyed the music of Blondie and own most (if not all) of her CD's. When this DVD was released, I knew it was a must have for any Blondie fan, and I wasn't disappointed.

Featuring Blondie's return to New York, her hometown, after 17 years away, this DVD has the full concert. Deborah Harry shows that she still has that beautiful voice I've grown to love and the crowd really gets into it. This DVD features 16 different songs performed by Blondie live including classic songs like "Call Me" and "Maria" and some new songs off of her latest album, "No Exit." I enjoyed this DVD from start to finish and it is now considered an integral part of my collection.

The Picture: The only downside to this DVD is the picture. While the camera work was professionally done, at times, it seems as if the picture falters a little bit from it's crispness throughout the rest of the movie. Overall, the movie features a clear picture though it is dark at times due to the surroundings (New York's Town Hall). Nevertheless I still enjoyed the movie despite these small pitfalls.

The Sound: The sound is superb. It almost seems like you are there in the crowd (well not really, but wouldn't that be nice?). The sound features Dolby Digital 2.0, and while 5 channel surround would have been even better, the 2.0 is still ample to showcase Blondie's great music.

The Extras: The extras are good, but there could have been more. Featuring over 45 minutes of footage not on the original VH1 special, the DVD is a must have for any fan of Blondie who watched the VH1 special. The disc also features lyrics and photos, but don't let this mislead you - there are only lyrics for a few songs and the photos are scarce. The "bonus video," 'Nothing is Real but the Girl' is a nice addition, but after watching Blondie live for over an hour, it's nothing special. The "instant song access" is nice, because you can just go to the exact song you want to see live (even though this is just the same as chapter access). The weblinks are pretty boring and just take you to the official Blondie site (www.blondie.net) and the site of the producer of the disc.

Conclusion: In conclusion, if you love Blondie, you'll love this DVD. My review may have been a little biased because I've been a fan of Blondie for so long and have never had the chance to see her live. The DVD has some great menus and the overall presentation of this disc is top-notch. I'd highly recommend it to Blondie fans and fans of Classic Rock alike.
