The Aisle View: Cold Mountain, Big Fish and Paycheck
One winner and three losers arrive in theaters Christmas Day and The Aisle View has a look at all of them: Aisle view critic Megan Denny applauds Tim Burton's latest outing, Peter Pan adaption spares the audience from torturous musical numbers, but ultimately is no better than any of the nine other film versions of the classic children's tale. Paycheck, the new John Woo film about a man who must piece together the last three years of his life and save the world using only some paper clips and a bus ticket is a great idea for a film, but is unwatchable due to the lackluster performance of Ben Affleck. Finally, the long-awaited adaptation of the best-selling novel Cold Mountain turns out to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year due to a lack of chemistry between the main characters.
