This week's major announcement is for this years big winner at the Academy Awards - The Lord of The Rings - Return of The King on 5/25 [Review] - as with previous chapters of the trilogy the first release will be the theatrical cut, with an extended edition to follow later in the year. Other Oscar winners announced this week include: Anthony Minghella's Cold Mountain on 7/6 - [Review] which wasn't exactly the critics darling despite winning an Oscar for best supporting actress, and winner of Best Documentary Fog of War on 5/11 [Review] - Errol Morris' brilliant look at former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara. Also announced this week: John Woo's 'Total Recall-esque' memory blanking Paycheck on 5/18 [Review], Screenwriter Mike Rich's (uncredited) Miracle on 5/18 [Review] - the story of how the impossible underdog of the US Olympic Hockey Team tried to dethrone the almost unbeatable USSR team.
