DVD Savant: The Martin Scorsese Film Collection
This week the DVD Savant has a batch of new reviews including: Night and the City - Jules Dassin's most delirious film noir gets the royal Criterion treatment complete with commentary from The DVD Savant, The Martin Scorsese Film Collection - MGM clusters older discs of Boxcar Bertha and The Last Waltz with new Special Eds of New York, New York and Raging Bull, The Cyclist - an artsy but effective Iranian film about an afghan refugee forced to make himself into a sideshow to get hospital money for his sick wife, The Wedding Party - Brian De Palma's not-too-impressive early film stars Jill Clayburgh and has Robert De Niro in a supporting role and Legong: Dance of the Virgins
Milestone surprises us again with a worthy rarity - a Two-Color Technicolor silent travelogue-documentary shot in Bali in 1934 with an all non-pro cast. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
