This month Silent DVD has more reviews of the newest silent film releases on DVD including Hindle Wakes - a 1921 film from Britain, is a surprisingly entertaining drama that has a rather surprising message for the time, Leaves from Satan's Book - Carl Theodor Dreyer's second feature inspired by D. W. Griffith's film Intolerance and Slap Happy - a very funny and informative series that aired on PBS looks at some of the forgotten comics of the silent age. In addition to reviews there is information about Milestones series of Mary Pickford films, the re-issue of Treasures from American Film Archives boxed set, and a comprehensive list of upcoming silent DVDs. Read Silent DVD now. Be sure to check out the previous installments that covered Mary Pickford's Little Lord Fauntleroy, Buster Keaton's last silent movie, King of Kings, and early Edison films.
