This Week's Notable DVDs - The Life Aquatic, Controversial Classics and In Good Company
A number of good notable DVDs this week including: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - Criterion Collection [Review] - Wes Anderson's latest gets a stellar treatment from Criterion with notable coverage of the music of David Bowie (sung in Portuguese) and composer Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo; Controversial Classics - 7 'controversial' films from the Warner Bros. most notably: Blackboard Jungle, A Face in The Crowd and Bad Day at Black Rock [Review]; In Good Company - Dennis Quaid is fantastic in a sweet a comedic drama from American Pie Director Paul Weitz, also Scarlett Johansson is reason enough to see any film; Longest Yard - the Burt Reynolds classic gets a nice re-release to tie in with the theatrical remake; Entourage - S1 [Review] - HBO hits another home run with a unique look at fame and those who 'hang on' to it. Other notable DVDs out this week include:
Assault on Precinct 13, Hoop Dreams - Criterion [Review] and Jamie's Kitchen.
