New DVD Reviews: Ran - Criterion, Polar Express and March of the Penguins
Now with over 13,800 DVD reviews in the DVD Talk Review Database, it's easy to overlook some of the great reviews. Recent DVD Reviews include: Ran - Criterion - a climatic achievement from an artist who stubbornly refused to compromise his vision, and one of the very few to get away doing it almost his entire professional life; The Polar Express - a complete and delightful surprise, a polished gem of a film that's worth picking up; March of the Penguins - a genuine crowd-pleaser that was recognized as such, offering a candid look at the world's harshest landscape and the animals that survive there; The Pinky Violence Collection - a quality presentation of great, fun, sexy, gangster, juvie, super bad girl cinema; AVP - Alien Vs. Predator (Unrated Director's Cut) - one of the weaker films in both franchises but this updated release will be a treat for the films fans. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
