New DVD Reviews: Dazed & Confused: Criterion, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and High School Musical
Now with over 15,900 DVD reviews in the DVD Talk Review Database, it's easy to overlook some of the great reviews. Recent DVD Reviews include: Dazed & Confused: Criterion Collection - a terrific Richard Linklater film that truly captures the spirit of the 1970s and gets a Criterion treatment so good that it garners DVD Talk's highest rating; Beyond the Valley of the Dolls - this unintentionally hilarious Russ Meyer film is given the DVD Talk Collector Series treatment from Fox, including a commentary track with the writer of the film, Roger Ebert; High School Musical - a Disney Channel original that made the leap from made-for-tv movie to pop culture phenomenon; Mr. & Mrs. Smith: Unrated - the unrated version of the film that essentially spawned "Brangelina"; Smokey and the Bandit: Special Edition - a fun, free-spirited 70s film that shows Burt Reynolds at the top of his game; The Syrian Bride - nominated for 7 Israeli Film Academy Awards, this massive Israeli/German/French production is an important film and a treat to watch. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
