New Movie Reviews: Nacho Libre, The Lake House, and The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift
There's a little bit of something for everyone in the films opening wide this weekend. Jared Hess follows up his enormous cult-hit Napoleon Dynamite with the story of a unskilled cook at a Mexican monestary going under the mask as a Lucha Libre wrestler. Jack Black stars in Nacho Libre - easily one of the strangest comedies to come around in quite some time. Will Nacho... find the same cult following that Hess enjoyed with his previous film? I guess if we start seeing people wearing "Vote for Nacho" shirts, we'll have our answer. We also take a look at the dramatic re-teaming of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in The Lake House, where a mysterious mailbox becomes the conduit for two people sharing letters while living in the same house at completely different times. Sound confusing? Maybe, but it's delightfully so. Also in theaters this week is The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift (third film in that particular series), the sequel to 2004's live action Garfield film, Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties, and the crossword puzzle documentary Wordplay. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Cars, The Omen (2006), The Break-Up, The Puffy Chair, Peaceful Warrior. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
