TV on DVD Reviews: Doctor Who: S1, King of Queens: S5, and The Newsroom: S1
Some great TV on DVD releases reviewed this week including: Doctor Who: S1 - the revamped version of a sci-fi classic series finally comes to R1 DVD and is sure to create a whole new generation of fans; The King of Queens: S5 - Doug, Carrie, and Arthur are back for more laughs in the fifth season of this hilarious sitcom; The Newsroom: S1 - the thirteen initial episodes of this documentary-style Canadian series is full of the show's signature biting humor and scathing satire;
The Wild Wild West: S1 - Robert Conrad is excellent in the lead role of this hybrid western that's as enjoyable today as it was forty years ago; Rising Damp: S2 - this British comedy really hit its stride during its far-superior second season with great character actor Leonard Rossiter leading the way; ALF: S3
- while the show may be a bit uneven in terms of quality, any child of the '80s will revel in seeing their favorite furry alien again on DVD. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted TV on DVD.
