This Week's Notable DVDs: The Good Shepherd, Volver, Charlotte's Web
A solid week for notable DVDs including: Good Shepherd [Review] - a film that deglamorizes espionage and shows it for what it really is, an often tedious and plodding game where information is deadlier than bullets; Volver [Review] - Pedro Almodovar and Penelope Cruz are at the top of their game in this luminous comedy-drama about not so ordinary family problems; Charlotte's Web [Review] - E.B. White's classic children's book gets a modern makeover and it's still as magical as ever. The Lost Room [Review]- Peter Krause is excellent in one of the better mini-series in recent years. Other notable DVDs out this week include: Twin Peaks: S2 [Review],
Black Christmas [Review],
Death of a President,
Entourage: S3.1 [Review] and Jump In! [Review]. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
