New Movie Reviews: Sicko, 1408, and Evan Almighty
Michael Moore's latest work of "informational entertainment," Sicko, is a brutal indictment of the American health care system. Take him for what you will, but you can't deny that Moore makes mostly mundane subjects incredibly interesting and this latest treatise will, no doubt, spark some controversy. Sicko gets out of the hospital and into theaters everywhere this weekend. Also in theaters this week is 1408 - John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson lead the way in this paranormal Stephen King adaptation that's already gotten the thumbs-up from the world-famous author; Evan Almighty - Steve Carell picks up where Jim Carrey left of in Bruce Almighty by starring in this (incredibly expensive) comedy; and A Mighty Heart - Michael Winterbottom directs Angelina Jolie in this heartbreaking tale about journalist Daniel Pearl. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: You Kill Me, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Nancy Drew, Eagle vs. Shark, D.O.A.: Dead or Alive, The Golden Door, The Treatment, Ocean's Thirteen, Surf's Up, Hostel: Part II, Your Mommy Kills Animals, Disappearances, Knocked Up. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
