With so many silent movies making their way onto DVD we have an extra installment of Silent DVD this month. This time around we have reviews of Kino's First Ladies: Early Women Filmmakers series. This three disc set (each available seperately) showcases four features and a short that were created by female filmmakers in the days before the studio system. We also have a look at a recently released documentary on the first major American director, Edwin S. Porter. All this and more in this month's Silent DVD.
