Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as:  The Longest Day (Blu-ray) [review] - A monumental, genre-altering war epic this film was a major critical and commercial success and for the most part it still holds up extremely well today; Weeds - Season Three - America's favorite pot-dealing soccer mom is back in this hilarious and subversive show; and Mike Judge and Don Hertzfeldt present The Animation Show: Volume 3 [review]- a wildly inventive variety of styles and equally varied subject matters, there's something here for nearly everyone.; Other releases of note include:  Semi-Pro [review], Mannix - The First Season and The Andromeda Strain Miniseries.
