DVD Savant: World Without End & Satellite in the Sky, Starship Troopers 3, and Perils of the New Land
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: World Without End & Satellite in the Sky - Warners' Best Buy exclusive combines two 'Scope 'n' Color Sci-Fi efforts from 1956: Allied Artists' engaging World Without End with Hugh Marlowe, Nancy Gates & Rod Taylor, and the ambitious English space story Satellite in the Sky with Kieron Moore, Lois Maxwell, Donald Wolfit and serious special effects problems. Essential space opera viewing;
Starship Troopers 3: Marauder - The third installment in the Arachnid Wars saga brings back Johnny Rico and a rather good script by writer-director Ed Neumeier; and Perils of the New Land: Films of the Immigrant Experience 1910-1914 - Two fine silent films come off as very modern in both aim and direction: The Italian and Traffic in Souls. With excellent soundtracks, commentaries and a booklet of original reviews and press materials. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
