DVD Savant: Plague Town, Danton, and Frost/Nixon
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: Plague Town [Blu-ray] - Mutants roam the nighttime mist in a superior tale of terror -- mixing over-the-top gore with unexpected scenes of creeping dread. 70s horror thrills return in Dark Sky's production, directed by David Gregory; Danton - Andrzej Wajda filters Polish politics through a Polish-French "intimate spectacle" about the clash between Georges Danton and Robespierre during the Reign of Terror. Excellent history and drama; great performances by Gérard Depardieu and Wojciech Pszoniak; and Frost/Nixon [Blu-ray] - Ron Howard's film version of Peter Morgan's play is an entertaining show with a strange non-committal attitude about the controversial president. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
