DVD Savant: Gremlins, Brigitte Bardot, and Avant-Garde
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: Gremlins [Blu-ray] - Chris Columbus and Joe Dante's anarchic creepshow comedy looks and sounds great in the Blu-ray format. With two commentaries and several other good extras; The Brigitte Bardot Classic Collection - An economical reissue of the Bardot striptease comedy Plucking the Daisy, the heavy-breathing Spanish-set melodrama The Night Heaven Fell and a sexed-up 70s Eurotrash tale, Don Juan; and Avant-Garde 3: Experimental Cinema 1922 to 1954 - Kino International returns with a third collection of experimental art-piece films, from the likes of Willard Maas, Cavalcanti, James Sibley Watson and John Whitney. Includes Marc'O's 65-minute Lettrist film Closed Vision. With added bonus films and excerpts. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
