The Tribeca Film Festival: Week Two
The Tribeca Film Festival is entering its second week, and DVD Talk's wall-to-wall coverage continues. Our own Jason Bailey has already seen and reviewed 26 of the festival's feature film slate, including the French comedy Micmacs, from the director of Amelie; Jay Baruschel in the charming comedy The Trotsky; Rashida Jones and Chris Messina testing the limits of their Monogamy; Helen Hunt, Liev Schrieber, Eddie Izzard, and Carla Gugino in the domestic dramedy Every Day; Oscar winners Renee Zellweger and Forest Whitaker slumming in My Own Love Song; and the latest from Ed Burns, Nice Guy Johnny. Plenty of impressive documentaries have unspooled as well, including Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, Vidal Sassoon: The Movie, Alex Gibney's gripping My Trip to Al-Qaeda, and Visionaries, a tribute to avant-garde cinema. Read Jason's daily Tribeca reviews in our theatrical review section.
