This Week's Notable DVDs: Grindhouse, Beauty and the Beast, and The Elm Street Legacy
Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as: Grindhouse [Blu-ray review] - even with the lossy audio track this disc is the running for the most exceptional Blu-ray release of 2010; Beauty and the Beast - Disney's classic, the only animated feature to receive a Best Picture Oscar nomination, arrives on Blu-ray; and Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy [DVD review] - the most insightful, most engaging, and most unrelentingly entertaining retrospective of a film franchise that's ever been produced.
Other new releases of note include: Mid-August Lunch [DVD review], Hard Candy [Blu-ray review], and Don't Let Me Drown [DVD review] - "a damn fine film."
