DVDTalk Interview: William Friedkin and Emile Hirsch
Nearly 50 years after his directorial debut, Academy Award-winning filmmaker William Friedkin is still at it. Director of such classics as The French Connection, The Exorcist, and Sorcerer, he teamed up with playwright Tracy Letts in 2006 for Bug, an adaptation of Letts' play about a potentially disturbed veteran. The collaboration between continues with the new film Killer Joe, which stars Emile Hirsch as a man who hires a professional killer (Matthew Mcconaughey) to take out a member of his own family, and gets more than he bargained for. Friedkin and Hirsch recently sat down in Seattle for a roundtable discussion that covers Killer Joe, French Connection Blu-Rays, and Pacquiao.
