This Week's Notable Releases: The Amityville Horror Trilogy, Adele Blanc-Sec, and Jack Irish
Some pretty cool discs are being released this week. Check out these new titles: The Amityville Horror Trilogy [review] - The movies themselves aren't the ‘be all, end all' in grueling horror but they're plenty entertaining just the same and fans of the franchise will appreciate both the supplements and the upgrade in quality from past releases; The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec [review] - this extended director's cut of the film is a slick, super-fun high adventure... it's charming, it's light, and it's great entertainment never striving for anything more than that and never really needing to; and Jack Irish: Set 1 [review] - this British mystery series is an enjoyable watch with smart casting, effective tension, and a hint of passion for good measure.
