This week several great movies are coming out, including a few that shouldn't be missed: John Wick [review] - the movie is a relentlessly violent piece of revenge cinema that is gripping and tense and exciting and just flat out fun; Porco Rosso [review] - Hayao Miyazaki's tale of a veteran WWI pilot turned bounty hunter who's been cursed with the vestige of a pig is a vibrant, straightforward adventure; and The Retrieval [review] - an independent production set during the American Civil War, this film is flat-out one of the most engaging, original, and well-crafted films to be released in the past year.
