This Week's Notable Releases: The Babadook, Sullivan's Travels, and Joe 90
Some great discs are being released this week. Check out these new movies:
The Babadook [review] - one of 2014's best horror films featuring an insidiously terrifying idea by writer / director Jennifer Kent and a spectacular lead performance in Essie Davis... it's a terrifying and unique movie; Sullivan's Travels [review] - a sharply written and executed comedy classic from writer/director Preston Sturges, the film is a heartfelt masterpiece about our ability to laugh and make others laugh; and Joe 90: The Complete Series [review] - another fun Gerry Anderson Supermarionation show, it's easy to see why '60s kids were enthralled by the slicked-up adventures of a boy spy who vanquished enemies with a host of cool props and vehicles.
Other reviews of note include: Carrie / The Rage: Carrie 2 [review], Class of 1984 [review], and Tales of Terror [review].
