Recent Reviews: Odd Man Out, X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes, and Hoop Dreams
This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked.
Recent DVD reviews include:
Odd Man Out: Criterion Collection - this movie kicked off director Carol Reed's run of great post-war films and its indelible style, sharp vignettes, and masterful lead performance makes for an immensely rewarding film.; X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes - among the smartest and most thoughtful genre films of its era, this Blu-ray release of the Roger Corman film has a gorgeous presentation and substantial extras; and Hoop Dreams - this excellent film helped bring a newfound vitality to documentaries as it follows two young boys in Chicago as they attempt to find success in high school basketball which will hopefully find them securing a college scholarship.
Other recent reviews include: Journey to the Center of the Earth (4K remastered version), Solomon and Sheba, and Batman vs. Robin. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
