This Week's Notable Releases: Batman Unlimited, Make Way For Tomorrow, and X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes
This week several great movies are coming out, including a few that shouldn't be missed:
Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts [review] - DC's most kid-friendly animated movie from the past few years, this is a return to the days of Justice League Unlimited back when DC wasn't afraid of having fun; Make Way For Tomorrow: Criterion Collection [review] - director Leo McCarey's favorite of his own films, this touching, comedic, and heartbreaking movie still feels fresh and will likely maintain its sterling reputation for decades to come; and X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes [review] - this Roger Corman film is among the smartest and most thoughtful genre films of its era.... Xavier's superhuman vision doesn't just empower him to see through clothing and flesh; through his eyes, we're able to catch insight into the human condition.
Other reviews of note include: Vampyros Lesbos [review], The McKenzie Break [review], and The Premature Burial [review].
