This Week's Notable Releases: I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story, The French Lieutenant's Woman, and The People Under The Stairs
Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as:
I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story [review] - extremely compelling from start to finish... Caroll Spinney's long, illustrious career and interesting personal life provide ample fodder for this feature-length documentary; The French Lieutenant's Woman: Criterion Collection [review] - a sumptuous coffee table book of a movie staring Jeremy Irons and an astonishing Meryl Streep as clandestine lovers; and The People Under The Stairs: Collector's Edition [review] - Wes Craven's 1991 film is an extremely dark comedy with plenty of satirical jabs for good measure.
Other reviews of note include: The Monster that Challenged the World [review], Soaked In Bleach [review], and War-Gods of the Deep [review].
